Band: CYG
From: Central Java, Indonesia
Their formation story:
(Hendro, vocals): “We formed in 2013. Over the years, the lineup has changed as we’ve worked to keep the band going. The current lineup is Sabab on guitar, Hendrik on bass, Good on drums, and I sing."
Their sound in their own words:
“Our sound is rooted in the heavy hardcore of the 2010s. We want the music to sound thick and heavy.
"Some of our influences include Hatebreed, Terror, Guilt Trip, Trivium, First Blood, Warzone, and many more.”
Latest release info:
“One track on the album, ‘Bound of Friendship,’ is about the friendships we’ve made through hardcore and meeting new people from our city, other cities, and even other countries. The other tracks deal with our anxiety, hatred, and anger toward a system that oppresses ordinary people.”
Future plans:
“We’re planning to release some collaborative tracks with bands we’re friends with.”
What other bands from their region should we check out?
“Dawnfold and Betray from Yogyakarta. One of the members is also a music producer and has his own recording studio, which gave us a place to record this album.”
