Band: Foot Fetish

Their formation story:
(Birdie, vocals): “My boyfriend Lucas and I were constantly talking about how Buffalo’s scene lacks straight-up hardcore punk. We joked about making a band with all the same members as his synth-punk project, Havana Syndrome, with everyone playing a different instrument and me on vocals. Everyone was down, so it just happened.
“I always joke(?) about having a foot fetish, so that’s how I landed on our crass name, and all the guys begrudgingly agreed. They’re all super talented and passionate about music, so it’s a whole lot of fun doing this with them.”
Their sound in their own words:
(Lucas, guitar): “Kind of like what Birdie just said, we’re trying to do a straight-up hardcore punk thing. Our influences, however, are all over the place, with Jimi and Alex not really even listening to this kind of music. It’s all a giant hodgepodge of all of us, and whatever it is, we like it."
Latest release info:
(Cole, bass): “The demo came about when we got together for the first time to finish up a song idea Lucas had, which was this rowdy, rock-soaked kind of punk riff. We flew through that, started on the next song, then the one after that, and so on. It was pretty quick to come together because we all knew pretty well what we wanted to sound like.
“The full demo is eight songs, just under 10 minutes, and rips like a chainsaw.”
Future plans:
(Cole): “The band is set to tour down south through Kentucky to NOLA and Florida, and then up to NYC in October alongside Havana Syndrome, whose members are exactly the same except all swapped around on instruments.”

(Lucas): “Well, as Cole mentioned, our other band Havana Syndrome. But also check out Science Man, War Bond, Dollmaker, SVS, The Stranger, and Budge It.”
