Bailed Out came together in Leeds in September 2025, but the band moved fast from the start. The members met through college, the local hardcore scene, and skateboarding, and wasted no time getting to work. Guitarist Josh wrote their first EP in a week, and by the third week, they were already on stage for their debut show.
"We were all so keen to write and gig and actually do this properly," the band tells No Echo. "The scene is really healthy here, so that first show was insane."
Lineup changes came early, but Bailed Out has since found a more shared approach. That change comes through on their latest EP, To Be Plagued By Your Antics, the first release written together by the full lineup. "We've matured loads on this last release," the band says. "It's the first record we've done that we've all collaborated on, so it really reflects all of our tastes."
Bailed Out draws from bands like Converge, Crowquill, and The Dillinger Escape Plan, but the roster of The Coming Strife has also informed their sound. "We'd love to be on The Coming Strife," the band says. "A lot of bands we're into, like Crowquill, Killing Me Softly, and Long Goodbye, are on the label."
Even as the songwriting has become more collective, vocalist Mykyta keeps his lyrics rooted in personal experience. After fleeing Ukraine as a refugee, he writes about displacement, mental health, and growing up in a cult, while also turning to wider political themes. "All the lyrics on our EP are about my experiences," he says. "I wanted to bring attention to the crisis that's currently happening in our world and how it's important to stand together against powerful people with an agenda."
For To Be Plagued By Your Antics, the band recorded live at Old Chapel Studios in Leeds with engineer Max Gower. Recording live brought a new energy to the tracks.
"It's made a massive difference recording this EP live in the studio," they explain. "Live drums make such a difference—it's what we sound like. Bailed Out has picked up support from promoters across Leeds and Bradford, with shows at Birds Nest Skatepark, Wharf Chambers, 1in12, and Boom.
Now, the band is set for one of its biggest opportunities yet: a slot at Bloodstock Festival. "It's such a great platform for UK and European bands from any heavy genre," the band says. "We want to gig as much as we can to push Bailed Out into the UK scene down South."
With more shows, music videos, and new material on the way, Bailed Out is intent on keeping up the momentum. "We've been blown away by the response," the band says. "Thanks to everyone who's got behind this release."
