Chopping Block Deliver Stomping First Taste of Their Upcoming Seattle's Hardcore EP

Chopping Block have had a busy year preparing for their latest release, Seattle’s Hardcore, the follow-up to their 2021 self-titled EP.

Featuring some of the Pacific Northwest’s finest musicians from bands like The Answer, Safe & Sound, and Moving On, the group has solidified their brand of modern Youth Crew-inspired hardcore in a way that stands out and pays respect to the classics.

Having played all throughout the West Coast (California, Oregon, Washington, and Canada), Chopping Block's dominance has been shown on Tacoma’s Just Another Gig Volume 5 and playing locally with bands like Berthold City, Planet on A Chain, Firestarter, Major Pain, and Slutbomb.

No Echo is proud to premiere "Clown," the first single from the forthcoming Seattle’s Hardcore EP:

Chopping Block’s vocalist Antonio had this to say about the track:

“'Clown' is the first song we wrote when we started working on the new record. We had some changes as a band since we last recorded and I'm always nervous about 'being the same band.' Brent brought that main riff that is a slower tempo than anything we had done, and it rules, but it felt like a stretch to me.

"I don't really think that's true now; its a great Chopping Block song. Even if it is a stretch, I'm glad we stretched in that direction.

"I also wrote the lyrics for this one first, and I wanted to use that as a way to tie it back to our previous stuff, by writing the absolute meanest lyrics I could. It's dripping with disgust in a way that I'm proud of.”

"Clown"

Follow along with the lyrics here:
Talking shit you try to be
Something makes no sense to me
Obvious to all around
You're just some dumb fucking clown
The joke you are doesn't land
Dummy listen understand
It's obvious to all around
You're just some dumb fucking clown

You think I care
What you do
You're dead to me
I don't know you

Shut your mouth
Do you hear what you're talking about

Chopping Block is going to continue their spree of out-of-towners with a weekend in the Midwest with Public Opinion and Full Stride. Keep an eye out for record release shows coming in the fall. This band is an absolute wrecking ball!

Seattle’s Hardcore will hit streaming outlets on September 9th. The vinyl version of the 7" will begin shipping via Brain Floss Records in early October (pre-order).
