Crimes et Camions: Check Out Some Fast Hardcore Punk from Bordeaux

Crimes et Camions formed in Bordeaux, France, in 2024. The band play stripped-down hardcore punk, keeping their songs compact and straightforward, rarely stretching past the two-minute mark.

Each member of the group has roots in DIY punk and hardcore, and their involvement in the Bordeaux scene extends to show promotion, radio, and fanzines. Fabien previously fronted Face Up to It!, a Bordeaux hardcore band that toured France and Europe. “We've never stopped wanting to play and form another new punk band,” bassist Pedro tells me. “And then, here we are!”

Crimes et Camions draw on hardcore punk across eras, but their preference for early punk guitar riffs stands out. Their influences include Black Flag, Los Crudos, Eskorbuto, Nomeansno, Limp Wrist, and Bordeaux's own Camera Silens.

Their lyrics shift among French, English, Spanish, and what they call 'other situational idioms.' The band targets capitalism in their writing, but also explores less typical punk themes, such as heavy truck mechanics. Yep, you read that right.

The six-song debut La Vague was recorded in 2025 at a house in the Landes forest. Dispear Records from Bayonne stepped in to release the cassette, a format the band had not originally considered. “Just like vinyl, this format should have died out because of the music industry, but it continues to exist thanks to DIY labels like ours,” Pedro says.

Crimes et Camions also feature on the Shit List Three international compilation from Los Angeles label Subkultdethwish, appearing alongside 20 other bands, including fellow Bordeaux group Global Horror.

The band have finished writing their next set of songs and plan to record soon, aiming for a vinyl or cassette release. Upcoming shows are planned across France, with hopes to play in neighboring countries as well.

For anybody wanting to dig further into Bordeaux's underground, Crimes et Camions recommend Phosphore, Global Horror, Bombardement, Distance, Ghettö, Le Plein Emploi, Haro, Contre-Feu, and Degradation.
