Point Blank have been a fixture in New York hardcore for over a decade. On September 15, the band will mark a first in its history by releasing its debut music video.
"Stand By Your Guns" is Point Blank's take on a classic from Major Conflict, a staple of the 1980s NYHC and punk scene. The track first appeared on their 2025 album Back to Square One, on WTF Records.
Point Blank decided to cover the song after playing WasteFest 4 in 2024, an event honoring John Dancy, who drummed for both Urban Waste and Major Conflict. After the show, vocalist Ken "kWe" Wagner reached out to Ditto Montiel from Major Conflict and got his blessing to record the track.
By the way, Montiel has had a successful career in Hollywood, directing feature films such as A Guide to Recognizing Your Saints (2006), Empire State (2013), and Riff Raff (2024).
Drummer Gary Martinez took on production and direction for the video, filming at a tattoo shop on Jamaica Avenue in Queens and out on the neighborhood streets.
When the cameras stopped rolling, Point Blank played a free set inside the shop for friends, customers, and staff.

"Ken and I, being big fans of both bands and having seen them both back in the day at CBGBs, thought it would be cool to do a cover of a Major Conflict song," guitarist Danny Dog tells No Echo.
"I totally love this song," Dog adds. "It brings me back to the spirit of the early '80s NYHC scene, when it was a mix of punk and hardcore, before the thrash crossover stuff. It's been a regular in our set ever since!"
