Led by the songwriting duo of singer Steve Jennings and guitarist Nicholas Piscitello, Spark of Life is a Los Angeles post-hardcore band that many No Echo readers might have first encountered around the time of their 2003 debut record, Promises Made Promises Kept, which released on Fat Wreck Chords-backed subsidiary, Lorelei Records, and was produced by Russ Rankin of Good Riddance and Only Crime.
Though they took a long hiatus, Spark of Life returned in 2018, releasing a slew of singles since then, including 2023's "Song of Hope," which featured none other than Fred Armisen of Saturday Night Live and Portlandia fame (and formerly of '90s band Trenchmouth) on drums.
Spark of Life will be releasing their sophomore album, Plagued By the Human Condition, and No Echo is pleased to present the music video for a song from the LP called "In Pursuit Of" for our readers to check out:
Spark of Life singer Steve Jennings shared the following about the track's lyrics:
“Matters of the heart are always risky. 'In Pursuit Of' is about knowing those risks and deciding to chase the love your heart wants anyway…even though it might break in the end."

Plagued By the Human Condition will be out in early 2025 via New Age Records.
