Last year, I shined the New Hardcore Spotlight on Suffer No Fools, a Michigan-based quintet influenced by classic thrash metal and hardcore. They're currently gearing up for the release of their debut album, To Live Is to Suffer.
The band just hit us with a track from the forthcoming album called "Tha Hard Way" that serves as a perfect showcase for their penchant for mid-tempo guitar riffs and moshy rhythmic shifts. It's the kind of stuff that will have you grinding your teeth without you knowing it.

Suffer No Fools vocalist Kyle Donovan said the following about the track:
“The song is about individuality in the hardcore space, in a roundabout way. Not just basing your views and opinions on tweets from band folks you’ve never met. The understanding that this life is a fucked up maze we are all trying to navigate. And I’ve found its easier when you’re true to yourself. Because with all of life’s confusions and questions, the last thing I want to be confused about is who the fuck I am. ‘At the end of the day, it’s all about how you play’.”
To Live Is to Suffer will be released later this year via Heroes + Martyrs.
