Bronx metallic hardcore band Xtinguish the Code are back on No Echo today with the premiere of their new video for “Declaration/Doomsday Cult,” a two-part track from their latest album, The Conflict.
Directed by Derek Soto and filmed at the massive Fuse-Brooklyn soundstage, the video makes use of the facility’s LED walls to surround the band with imagery that matches the song’s political themes. For vocalist BJ Allen, the two halves of the track approach those ideas from different angles.
“‘Declaration’ is about a citizen drawing a line in the sand by no longer falling for the prescribed narratives being forced upon them,” Allen explains. “‘Doomsday Cult’ is about the ease with which faith can be used to manipulate a large number of people to actively work against the tenets of their faith.”
The visual treatment pushes those ideas even further. “We wanted to highlight things that sometimes get justified by ‘moral superiority’ by using harsh images to help navigate the song,” Allen says. “Luckily, we had an opportunity to work in an amazing soundstage thanks to my longtime friend Joseph White of Fuse-BK. Fuse is a virtual soundstage that uses state-of-the-art LED video walls, which gave our director Derek Soto the ability to immerse the performance into some pretty horrific scenes.”
Formed in 2019, Xtinguish the Code currently features Allen alongside bassist Dusty Onita (Apparition, 4 In Tha Chamber), drummer Nate Boogie (Lake Lanier, No Weapon, MAAFA), and guitarist The Professor G Flava (Apparition, No Weapon, Waist In Flesh, Gemini Method). The band pulls from NYHC, metallic hardcore, hip-hop, and beatdown, with members bringing years of experience from across the New York heavy music scene.

The Conflict, released through Grey Matter Records, is the band’s first album with Allen and Boogie and their first built around a larger concept. Its songs follow the transformation of an ordinary resident into a radicalized citizen while touching on working-class solidarity, political disillusionment, and collective awakening.
Xtinguish the Code are already working on new material planned for 2027 and will continue playing throughout the Northeast in the coming months.
