Morgued: Boston Death Metal Meets Horror & Sci-Fi on Ordnance Obscenum

Hailing from Boston, MA, Morgued is a death metal band that recently released its full-length album, Ordnance Obscenum, via Iron Fortress Records. The album is available on CD and most streaming services.

Morgued plays sci-fi-inspired death metal with great grooves and some seriously brutal moments throughout Ordnance Obscenum. The band focuses on a well-rounded DM experience, blending classic influences with modern flair in each song.

Chris Leamy recorded and mixed the album, and Will Killingsworth mastered it at Dead Air Studios, with artwork by Ditch Witch.

I love this description their label, Iron Fortress, penned about the album:

"As the opening synth scenes unfold, ‘Ordnance Obscenum’ launches into a collapsing war-torn galaxy consumed by endless conflict, authoritarianism, and exploitation. Over nine tracks, ‘Ordnance Obscenum’ carves through alien battlefields, poisoned worlds, cybernetic experimentation, and the machinations of megalomaniacal warlords.

I caught up with Morgued after band practice to discuss Ordnance Obscenum, the recording process, and what the band has planned for the future.
