Detroit metalcore veterans Walls of Jericho are officially back. The band has announced System Error: Humanity, its first new studio album in more than 10 years. The 15-song effort arrives November 13 via Napalm Records, marking the follow-up to 2016's No One Can Save You From Yourself.
Produced by Kurt Ballou (Converge, Nails), System Error: Humanity promises to capture the raw intensity of Walls of Jericho's live show while delivering some of the most aggressive material of the band's career.
Alongside the announcement, the band has unveiled the lead single, "The Ascent," accompanied by an official music video:
Vocalist Candace Buckingham describes the new album as both a personal and political statement.
"'System Error: Humanity' is a raw, unapologetic, and most aggressive record to date," she says. "We set out to capture the chaos, intensity, and raw energy of our live show rather than chase perfection."
Buckingham also offered insight into the meaning behind "The Ascent."
"'The Ascent' is a crushing blend of dissonant riffs, massive breakdowns, and raw intensity," she says. "It's about confronting yourself one hard truth at a time, shedding ego, silencing the noise, and discovering that real strength isn't found at the summit, but in the discipline and honesty it takes to climb."
The album also features guest spots from Randy Blythe of Lamb of God on "Broken Mouths Can't Speak" and Guy Kozowyk of The Red Chord on the title track.
