Swedish crust punk veterans Wolfbrigade have announced their new album, Howl From Underground, arriving October 9 via Metal Blade Records. The band has also released the record's first single, "Cold War Bootlicker," along with an accompanying video.
Following 2024's Life Knife Death, the upcoming 12-song LP finds Wolfbrigade changing up their recording process after a decade of handling production themselves. This time, the band worked with producer Lawrence Mackrory (Meshuggah, Katatonia, Paradise Lost, Bloodbath) at Necromorbus Studio.
"As the songs started to fall into place, we decided to do something we hadn't done in many years," Wolfbrigade explain. "For the last decade we've recorded, produced, and mixed our albums ourselves."
Wolfbrigade shared the following thoughts about the new track:
“‘Cold War Bootlicker’ is about false opposites. We divide the world into competing camps, but the machinery never changes. Two heads fighting over the same body. Every master speaks a different language of obedience.”

The forthcoming album also sees drummer David "Dadde" Stark rejoining Wolfbrigade, returning to the lineup after his previous run with the band from 2002 to 2015.
Stark is joined in Wolfbrigade by vocalist Micke Dahl, bassist Johan Erkenvåg, and the guitar team of Jocke Rydbjer and Erik Norberg.
