Brooklyn noise rock trio GoJuMo brings together Ev Gold (guitar, vocals) and Michael Jung (bass) of Cinema Cinema with Stephen Moses (drums) of longtime New York outfit Alice Donut. The band’s name pulls from each member’s last name: Gold, Jung, and Moses.
GoJuMo came together in 2024 and have spent the time since writing, rehearsing, and playing shows. That work has resulted in their debut album, Let Us In, due November 19 via Dipterid Records.
I had the chance to hear the album ahead of its release, and it’s a strong dose of noise rock, particularly for listeners into The Jesus Lizard and low-end-heavy bands like Exhalants and Blacklisters.
I spoke with GoJuMo about how the band came together, their approach to writing and rehearsing, opening for The Dwarves, and what they have planned next.
